Dog Of The Month

Meet Our Featured Dog of the Month: TANAKA!

Meet Tanaka aka Tuna aka Looney Toons! The silliest, most loveable bundle of energy you'll ever encounter.

Tanaka is a 2-year-old mixed-breed girl weighing 32 lbs. While her exact breed mix is unknown, she has the look of a tall, leggy terrier (maybe Jack Russel) with a dash of Beagle.

Tanaka's biggest flaw? She lives life too fully. She loves too deeply, has too much fun, and is too exuberant. She has an unbridled zest for life that is sure to make everyone around her smile.

The goofy girl is adapting to life in a house well, her foster says she's extremely adaptable and resilient, always going with the flow and quickly learning her manners and basic obedience. She is housetrained and crate trained.

Tanaka is medium-sized dog with a large amount of energy. She's busy, constantly looking for something to keep her entertained. She'll make the best adventure buddy for someone with an active lifestyle! Her energy levels are manageable with exercise and mental stimulation. After a nice walk, she entertains herself with toys before crashing out for a nap.

What's more boundless than her energy levels is her love. The sweet dog is overflowing with affection. She loves to snuggle, receive pets, or greet people with an overly enthusiastic tail wag. She is very social and quickly grows attached to her humans and friends.

Despite her attachment, Tuna is okay being crated and left alone. She can bark when caught offguard (crated or otherwise), but is usually quick to settle.Tanaka is great with other dogs, eager to play but respectful of social cues. She is extremely excited to say hi to anyone she meets on the street, greeting everyone as though they are her long lost friend. She is not suitable in a home with cats or small pets, and needs someone who can physically manage her on walks (she is deceivingly strong!).

If you are looking for a spunky little sidekick, Tuna is your girl!💥
