We handle central ducted heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and dual-fuel setups that pair a heat pump with your existing gas furnace for the coldest nights. Every install includes load calculation, permit, commissioning with weighed-in refrigerant charge, smart thermostat, and complete CleanBC and FortisBC rebate paperwork.

Our process
We start with a Manual J load calculation because heat pumps are unforgiving of oversizing (short-cycling kills efficiency). We present two or three equipment options at different HSPF/SEER tiers with real annual operating-cost projections for your home. Install includes new refrigerant line set where required, a heat-pump-compatible thermostat (Ecobee or Daikin One), and commissioning with printed performance report. We register the manufacturer warranty and file all rebate paperwork.

Cold-climate heat pumps (the models we install) maintain 100% of their rated heating capacity down to −15°C and continue producing heat down to −25°C. For the few nights each year we drop below that, dual-fuel setups switch to your gas furnace automatically.
How much do CleanBC and FortisBC rebates knock off?+
Current combined rebates for a qualifying cold-climate heat pump can reach $6,000+ for income-qualified homes and $3,000–$4,500 for standard applicants. Rebate amounts change — we quote yours in writing based on the current program at your install date.
What's the difference between a ductless mini-split and a central heat pump?+
A central heat pump uses your existing ductwork and heats/cools the whole house from one indoor coil. A ductless mini-split has one outdoor unit and one or more wall-mounted indoor heads — ideal for homes without ducts, additions, or zoning. We install both.
How long does a heat pump installation take?+
A straight furnace/AC-to-heat-pump swap is typically 1–2 days. Ducted retrofits into a home without existing ducts, or multi-zone ductless installs, run 2–4 days.
