This winter, our team had the privilege of helping local resident Nadine Enright through our very first Community Comfort Giveaway, restoring warmth to her home and launching a new initiative dedicated to supporting families in need.
A Difficult Journey and an Unexpected Challenge
Over the past several years, Nadine faced an extraordinary series of personal hardships while caring for her family.
She and her sister became full-time caregivers for their bedridden father until his passing in late 2024. Soon after, the family experienced another devastating loss when her younger brother passed away from cancer. As the new year began, her older brother was also diagnosed with cancer, and Nadine again devoted her time to supporting him through treatment until his passing later that year.
During this already emotional period, she also lost a close friend.
Because of these circumstances, maintaining full-time employment became nearly impossible, and important home repairs had to be postponed.
Unfortunately, her home’s furnace, more than 50 years old, failed just before these challenges began.
Without the means to replace it, Nadine relied on space heaters and alternative methods to keep her home warm during winter, resulting in rising electricity costs and uncomfortable living conditions.
Applying for the Furnace Giveaway
When Nadine learned about TruFinity’s furnace giveaway, she applied without expecting to be chosen.
Our team received multiple heartfelt applications and carefully reviewed each one. After interviews and home visits, we selected the household where help would create the greatest impact.
When we visited Nadine’s home and saw the situation firsthand, it was clear how urgently reliable heating was needed.

The moment we informed Nadine she had been selected remains unforgettable for our entire team.
What seemed like a simple giveaway quickly became something much more meaningful, an opportunity to restore comfort, reduce stress, and bring hope after years of hardship.
