Everything you need to know about water & air in Kelowna & the Okanagan.
What's included
TruFinity designs and installs water filtration tailored to your actual water — not a one-size-shelf-package. Every job starts with a free in-home water test that identifies hardness, chlorine, chloramine, iron, manganese, tannins, TDS, and pH. From there we quote whole-home carbon filtration, softeners for hard water (much of the Okanagan is 8–15 gpg), sediment pre-filtration, under-sink reverse osmosis for drinking water, and UV sterilization for well systems. We install every major brand — Kinetico, Novo, EcoWater — plus service systems we didn't install.
Signs you need it
Book a water test if you see white scale on fixtures and inside kettles, soap that won't lather, spotty dishes coming out of the dishwasher, rusty staining, sulfur or metallic taste, dry skin after showering, or if you're on a well and haven't tested in over a year. Municipal Kelowna water is safe but hard — a softener is the highest-ROI upgrade for most homes.
Our process
The free water test takes 20 minutes on-site with lab-grade meters. We explain results in plain language, quote two or three equipment options with real operating costs (salt, filters, service intervals), and install with new isolation valves and a bypass so future service is easy. Every system is commissioned, and we set up an annual filter/salt reminder on your file.
Why TruFinity
We install whole-home filtration systems across the Central Okanagan. Every job includes the Price Lock and Lifetime Workmanship promises, option-specific parts and labour coverage, and manufacturer warranty registration where available.
Good to know.
Do I actually need a water softener in Kelowna?+
Kelowna municipal water runs 8–12 grains per gallon of hardness — moderately hard to hard. It won't hurt you, but it scales water heaters, shortens fixture life, and forces you to use more soap. A softener typically pays for itself in appliance longevity and detergent savings inside 4–6 years.
How much does a whole-home water filtration system cost?+
A basic whole-home carbon filter installed runs roughly $1,800–$2,800. A high-quality softener installed runs $2,500–$4,500. Combined systems and well-water packages are quoted after the water test. No ballparks — the equipment depends on your actual water chemistry.
What's the difference between whole-home filtration and under-sink RO?+
Whole-home filtration treats every tap for chlorine, sediment, and hardness — great for showers, laundry, and appliances. Reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink removes 95%+ of dissolved solids for drinking and cooking. Most homes benefit from both.
How often do filters and salt need to be replaced?+
Whole-home carbon cartridges last 6–12 months depending on water use. RO membranes last 3–5 years with pre-filters annually. Softener salt is topped up every 4–8 weeks depending on hardness and household size. We send annual reminders on your file.
